Whether you are journeying to the faraway beaches of Bali or spending a week in Italy, travel reinvigorates the soul. This year, we asked our well-traveled staff where they are heading next. Here is the fourth installment of the Andrew Harper staff travel series.

Bali, Indonesia

Who: Paula, Travel Consultant

Why: My ideal holiday this year would be to relax at the Four Seasons Bali at Sayan. A serene setting sounds like paradise to me in the upcoming year: Waking up with yoga in the morning and spending the rest of the day rafting, hiking or visiting workshops and buying crafts – followed by an evening at the spa and dining on local healthy cuisine.

France, Morocco, African safari

Who: Sue, Travel Consultant

Why: France – Barging along the Burgundy Canal in France. I want to experience a different type of travel than I have in the past. I find the tranquil pace and the opportunity to visit some of the smaller villages and vineyards appealing. In addition, the barge cruises beckon with fabulous food, superb wine, stunning scenery and the chance to be as active or inactive as one likes.

Why: Morocco – A visit to Morocco is on my wish list, as well. Morocco seems to combine fascinating history, exotic culture, lovely and unique hotels and fabulous scenery. I would love to visit to Marrakech, with its legendary market, its history and its renowned architecture.

Why: African safari – A luxury safari in Southern or East Africa is also on my list. My fascination with seeing big cats, elephants and other wildlife in a natural setting drives my interest in a safari. I'm also intrigued by the famous luxury lodges situated in the African bush and wilderness with conservation and the local culture in mind.

Italy

Who: Caryn, Staff Accountant

Why: I want to visit Italy because of the rich history, architecture, scenery, food and arts. I have to see Michelangelo's Pietà at St. Peter's and the Doumo in Florence, and I must make a trip down to Pompeii. I also want to branch out from the tourist spots and experience a more local vibe and see day-to-day life. I'd like to stay at The Gritti Palace in Venice and hopefully the Villa Spalletti Trivelli in Rome. I especially want to see the way the sunlight makes the buildings pink and orange when it sets in Rome. Hopefully, I can make this happen in December for my 35th birthday!

This is the fourth post in our 2014 Staff Travel Wish List series.
