Lima, Peru
This stylish boutique property is set in a stately white Belle Epoque mansion located in Barranco, a fashionable neighborhood home to many of Peru’s leading artists, musicians, designers and photographers. Hotel B’s 17 guest accommodations come in three categories. An intimate restaurant on the ground floor headed by chef Oscar Velarde serves Peruvian-inspired Mediterranean cuisine.
Sacred Valley, Peru
The striking new 50-room explora Valle Sagrado is located 25 miles north of Cusco in a peaceful rural location. Designed by Chilean architect José Cruz Ovalle, the refined décor is austerely modern with a Scandinavian sensibility and includes unvarnished wooden walls, stripped beams and pillars, vaulted ceilings, expansive windows and elevated walkways. The emphasis is on nature “explorations,” chiefly hiking and mountain-biking excursions.
Cusco, Peru
Situated next door to the Belmond Hotel Monasterio, the atmospheric Belmond Palacio Nazarenas is comprised of a historic palace built in the mid-1500s on Inca foundations and a more modern annex. Fifty-five stylish guest rooms feature a traditional Spanish style with leather accents, heavy furniture, carved wooden doors and white walls. Amenities include Senzo Restaurant for regional specialties.
