Our "From the Greens" series continues with a submission from an enchanting property in Carefree, Arizona.

The Boulders, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

The Boulders, a Top 20 Readers' Choice Golf Resort winner and one of the finest golf resorts in the world, offers two, 18-hole championship golf courses, designed by Jay Morrish. The courses have won some of the industry’s highest accolades including Golf Magazine’s “Platinum Medal” award. They are considered some of the most demanding courses in the southwest, and are known for their rugged beauty and breathtaking desert panoramas. One of the “signature” holes is #7 on The Boulders South Course.

Fondly called “Rosie’s Rock” (in honor of the founder’s wife), #7 is reminiscent of the famed Roadrunner cartoon – a huge boulder appears ready to roll over at any time! Other signature items on this hole include a large saguaro cactus in the bunker next to the green, a two-level undulating green with a narrow opening from tee to green and creative pin placements protected by the greenside bunker.
