Destination Information

Yoho, Kootenay, Banff and Jasper national parks straddle the Alberta and British Columbia border. Banff, Canada’s oldest, is the better known, receiving more than 5 million visitors a year, but the other three are no less beautiful and are equally rewarding. Wildlife includes grizzly and black bears, cougar, lynx and wolves. Elk, mule deer and white-tailed deer are common, while moose tend to be more elusive. The Trans-Canada Highway and the Icefields Parkway run through the parks, providing access to a vast, spectacular wilderness.
