Situated in Ahousaht First Nation territory, this idyllic wilderness eco-retreat is located half an hour by boat or 45 minutes by seaplane from Vancouver. The 25 luxurious white canvas guest tents all come with thick rugs, Adirondack-style beds and wood stoves. Four additional tents, particularly suitable for children, have showers in an adjacent guesthouse. The handsome post-and-beam cookhouse, where memorable multicourse “coastal Cascadian” meals are served, has a double-sided fieldstone fireplace, a waterfront glass lounge and a wraparound deck. The property also has a spa and billiards tent. Horseback riding, kayaking, whale watching, bear viewing and fishing are available, and spectacular full- or half-day helicopter excursions can be arranged. Children under the age of 6 are not permitted.
The property is closed every year from October to mid-May.
