This family-owned ecolodge on a 146-acre private island is a 50-minute flight north of Port Vila. Fifteen 200-year-old Indonesian teak wood farmhouses offer private patios with daybeds that face gardens and a semiprivate stretch of beach with lounge chairs. All rooms lack A/C, exterior locks and in-room Wi-Fi. Most houses in the recommended West Point Village feature vaulted thatched roofs, canopy beds with mosquito netting, leather armchairs and baths with wood-floored showers connected to the rooms by a short walkway. The less appealing courtyard-style Fish Village is reserved for families. Two beachfront tents are also available, although these are isolated from the rest of the resort. A main clubhouse comprises a chic lounge, a cinema and a seafood-oriented restaurant. There is also a small overwater spa. Fishing, snorkeling, mountain biking and horseback riding can be arranged. Swimming with horses is an activity unique to the island.
