November 2018 sees the opening of a new 26-villa resort, Anantara Quy Nhon Villas, located on a relatively untouched stretch of the Vietnamese coast, 70 minutes by plane northeast of Ho Chi Minh City (the local airport is a 40-minute drive away).
Backed by mountains and surrounded by 17 acres of gardens, the villas come with private sundecks and pools, a wine cellar and dedicated butler service. In addition to the Sea Fire Salt restaurant, which specializes in local seafood and regional flavors, the property offers “Dining by Design,” a service that arranges private beach dinners, picnics on uninhabited islands and even gastronomic trips aboard local fishing boats. Aside from lounging on untouched golden sands, guests may sea kayak to pristine reefs, snorkel or luxuriate in the hilltop spa, which offers three cliffside treatment pavilions, where coconut milk baths are followed by “synchronised four-hand massage.”
