The well-traveled team at Andrew Harper continually scours the globe to uncover new destinations, revisit old favorites and discover the best in travel — but we have bucket lists just like everyone else. Here are a few of the places on our dream travel wish lists for 2014.
Who: Corinne, Air Coordinator
Why: This exotic land has caught my attention for a long time. I love the food and the artwork and I want to see the floating market on the river in Bangkok. I would love to stay in a hotel on the river and take one of the Thai cooking classes they offer. And I especially want to experience the Aman property in Thailand. I had the pleasure of staying at Amangani in Jackson Hole, which was amazing, so I know the Thai one will be incredible.
Who: Laura, Travel Consultant
Why: It would be my dream to spend a week at Amansara, which is the Amanresorts hotel at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. I would love to spend several days exploring the Angkor complex.
Who: Erica, Travel Partner Manager
Why: Firstly to visit the beautiful and exciting city of Buenos Aires. Here, I will stroll through the very colorful La Boca area where the tango was born and visit historic La Recoleta, which features the ornate cemetery and final resting place of Eva Perón.
Next, a short flight to Mendoza to experience the cherished winelands of Argentina where some of the best Malbecs in the world are produced. Finally Patagonia, where the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage site of Los Glaciares National Park is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To see those beautiful blue-colored glaciers stretching to the skies has always been a dream!
Who: Edward, Associate Director of Technology and Operations
Why: I love to escape the fast pace of America, and slow down amongst the friendly country and seaside villages. There is an aura that envelops you as soon as you enter the countryside; with its rich history, picturesque landscapes, mesmerizing people and of course, the beer. I always love making my way to Galway and County Clare, and staying among the many bed-and-breakfasts the country has to offer.
Who: Marlene, Travel Consultant
Why: While I have traveled the world, I have never done anything quite like a French barge trip. I like the fact that it is a small boat, with several stops along the route to visit villages. It seems like a very relaxing way to experience the scenery.
