Located 140 miles (a 35-minute flight) southwest of Mahé, the principal island in the Seychelles archipelago, Desroches Island is part of the coral Outer Islands group. Three and a half miles long and surrounded by nine miles of uninterrupted white sand, it is a pristine and otherworldly retreat. A resort has existed on the island since 1988, but having been closed for two years for a complete redesign, it has reopened as Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island.
The 71 accommodations now include Suites, Bungalows and Villas, plus three-, four- and five-bedroom Residence Villas. All have private pools and direct access to the beach. Amenities include Claudine for Mediterranean cuisine, The Lighthouse for seafood and a lavish spa. The scuba diving and deep-sea fishing are world-class.
