There are many ways in which to explore the Galápagos. A majority of visitors will travel aboard a small cruise ship; more-adventurous types will prefer a sailing yacht or dive boat. But if the budget is a secondary consideration, then the ultimate experience is aboard a private yacht.
The newly refurbished M/Y Passion is a 159-foot four-deck yacht that accommodates a maximum of 12 passengers in considerable style. All suites and staterooms come with air-conditioning and Italian marble baths, and there is a 1-to-1 staff-to-guest ratio.
Unusually the boat’s owner, Angermeyer Cruises, has joined forces with WildAid, a San Francisco-based environmental organization, and each cruise makes a financial contribution to its field program in the Galápagos. WildAid’s high-profile celebrity ambassadors include Leonardo DiCaprio, Harrison Ford, Jane Goodall and Kate Hudson.
