Long a favorite of Hideaway Report readers, Blantyre, in Lenox, Massachusetts, changed hands in 2017. Two hours from Boston and three hours from New York, the property is set amid 110 acres of grounds and is one of 12 Gilded Age mansions remaining in the Berkshires.

Its new owner, Silicon Valley real estate investor Linda Law, decided that the property’s 23 rooms and suites were in need of a multimillion-dollar renovation. The new incarnation opened in June. Dining options will now include The Conservatory, with a four-course tasting menu, and The Bistro, a brasserie serving New England cuisine. These will be complemented by a new Dom Pérignon Champagne salon. The spa has also been transformed and now offers a eucalyptus steam room, a relaxation lounge, a spa cuisine menu and a meditation garden. Complimentary BMWs are available for guests who wish to explore the area’s numerous cultural attractions.
