Wednesday, March 27, marks the start of Holi, the Indian festival of colors. The annual spring festival, which celebrates the heroics of Lord Krishna, is an occasion for singing, dancing and the spirited flinging of thousands of pounds of dyed sandalwood powder. Most if not all of Andrew Harper's recommended properties in India, including the Aman-i-Khás nature reserve in Rajasthan, will mark the occasion with guest visits to nearby towns and villages.
