Sir Richard Branson’s idyllic hideaway in the British Virgin Islands is open for business once more. Necker Island's Great House was destroyed by lightning during Hurricane Irene — Kate Winslet helped to rescue Branson’s 90-year-old mother from the flames — and has taken two years to rebuild. It now offers eight rooms, plus a panoramic Master Suite. The island accommodates 30 guests and is generally taken by individuals and families for their exclusive use. However, during certain weeks it is possible to reserve a single room, subject to a minimum-stay requirement.
