In the News: Serengeti Singita

At this time of year, the wildebeest that massed on the Serengeti’s southern plains to give birth are beginning to think about moving on. By July and August, they will have reached the Mara River, the border between Kenya and Tanzania, where they will ford its crocodile-infested waters. The area on the Tanzanian bank is known as the Lamai Triangle. Until recently, there was nowhere to stay, and visitors were few. In August 2012, however, the Singita Mara River Tented Camp opened, with just six luxurious tents. It is potentially the most exciting safari camp to debut in many years. -A.H.
