Last Word: Reader Survey 2014

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is seeing hotels that I have reviewed in The Hideaway Report appear subsequently in the annual Reader Survey. It is proof that readers have accepted my recommendations and enjoyed memorable experiences as a result. Annually, I ask you to tell me about your recent travels, and a gratifying number of subscribers take the trouble to do so. This year, I have decided to be more rigorous about precisely what constitutes a hideaway, and the list of your favorite U.S. and international hideaways will be restricted to properties with 50 or fewer rooms. I am also particularly keen to hear about your favorite cruises and safari lodges. Other categories will include your favorite beach resorts, city hotels, family escapes, food and wine properties, golf resorts and spas. As an added inducement, I am offering a sweepstakes prize of a five-night stay at Wequassett near the historic town of Chatham on Cape Cod. (The recently renovated resort now boasts a spectacular new waterfront.) To participate in the survey and to learn more about the sweepstakes, click here.
