Video: Highlights of London

One of the few great cities that combine charm and dynamism in equal measure, London has inexhaustible cultural riches. I recently spent almost two weeks in Britain’s capital, exploring royal palaces, world-class museums, cutting-edge contemporary art galleries and historic theaters, not to mention superlative restaurants and cocktail bars.

This video includes shots of some of the most memorable moments of the trip, including the renovated Tate Britain, the re-created Globe theater, The London Mastaba installation by Christo and Jeanne-Claude on the Serpentine Lake and Henry VIII’s Hampton Court Palace.

But as much as we saw over the course of our rather lengthy stay, time, as always, was our great enemy. I’m aghast to say that we didn’t manage to squeeze in a single West End show this time, nor did we make it back to old favorites like The National Gallery. London always leaves me wanting more.

I also discovered three new luxury hideaways to recommend in the City, Holborn and Knightsbridge neighborhoods. See my videos of those delightful hotels.
