Luxury Treehouses at Chewton Glen, Hampshire

Treehouse Suite living room at Chewton Glen For more than 30 years, Chewton Glen has been among the English country house hotels most favored by Hideaway Report readers. A three-story, red-brick Georgian mansion surrounded by 130 acres of grounds, it is located 90 minutes southwest of London at the edge of the New Forest (which was “new” in 1079, when it was set aside by King William I as a 200-square-mile hunting reserve).

The latest additions to the property are 12 Treehouse Suites, set on stilts in the forest canopy a short buggy ride from the main hotel. The suites come in three configurations, or you can take an entire Treehouse for your exclusive use. Hideaway Suites (for two) are situated 35 feet above the ground and come with large outdoor terraces with hot tubs. The interiors are decorated in natural shades, and feature separate dining areas, kitchenettes with wine coolers, woodburning stoves and wood floors with underfloor heating. Marble baths provide walk-in showers and freestanding tubs with forest views. The separate bedroom “pod” is accessible from the living area by a covered walkway. Spa treatments are available within the privacy of your suite, and room-service baskets are delivered through a “secret” hatch. I have already received several enthusiastic reports from subscribers.
