Paws Up, a resort complex on western Montana’s lovely Blackfoot River, will introduce a fourth tent camp beginning in June that makes camping out even more luxurious. "Pinnacle Camp" sits on a bluff overlooking the confluence of the Blackfoot River and Elk Creek on the 37,000-acre private ranch.
The camp includes six large, fully furnished tent suites, each with an en suite master bath. Each of four two-bedroom tents will be outfitted with a king bed and two twin beds — perfect for families. A one-bedroom tent will have one king bed. The other tent in the camp is a dedicated honeymoon suite called “Tango Point,” perched on the bluff with views of the Blackfoot River and Elk Creek, and with a claw-foot tub in the very private living space. The safari-style accommodations are outfitted with luxury amenities including jetted tubs, climate-control cooling fans and heater, and decks with river views. Pinnacle Camp guests will have access to an expansive dining pavilion with a game/lounge area and fireplace, an on-site camp chef and personal camping butler. Reservations are being accepted for stays beginning June 15 or later. Also new this year is the resort’s first adults-only
"Moonlight Camp", a collection of six romantic canvas tents (formerly called “Tent City”) set amid a cluster of pines and massive boulders overlooking a broad meadow just a short stroll from the Blackfoot River. Moonlight Camp includes a dining pavilion, an upscale bathhouse with six private baths (one for each tent) with heated floors and granite countertops, and a spa tent and camping butler.
Paws Up offers a full menu of outdoor and ranch activities including horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, sporting clays, ATV adventures and more. Most activities are suitable for children ages 7 and up, and there is a range of programs for young campers.
The addition of Pinnacle Camp raises the number of tented accommodations at Paws Up to 24. The resort also includes 28 well-appointed vacation homes, ranging from two-bedroom Meadow Homes to the private four-bedroom Morris Farmhouse and Wilderness Estates. Paws Up is located in the heart of the Blackfoot Valley about 45 minutes from Missoula.
