The June Hideaway Report follows Andrew Harper's travels to Denmark and Texas, where he finds a total of seven new hotels to recommend. Here are the two he discovered in Texas.
San Antonio, Texas
Hotel Emma is a distinguished 146-room hotel housed in a brick structure with a central tower and arched windows that was originally a brewery. Its bold and dramatic lobby has exposed brick walls, saddle blanket-style area rugs, hardwood furniture and leather sofas; the brewery’s cast-iron tanks and machinery remain in place.
Washington, Texas
The Inn at Dos Brisas is a serene Spanish Colonial-style hotel on a 313-acre ranch estate on the outskirts of the rolling Texas Hill Country, more than an hour outside Houston. Guest accommodations include rooms housed within four duplex Casitas and five grand Haciendas, each with 3,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space and private plunge pools.
