Recent Openings: Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve opened yesterday on Puerto Rico's northern coast, roughly 15 miles west of San Juan. Located on 1,400 acres of the former Laurance Rockefeller estate, the property features 100 spacious guest rooms and 14 one-bedroom suites that sit directly on the beach. Guest accommodations feature outdoor shower gardens, walk-in wardrobes, deep soaking tubs and private balconies.

Su Casa, a four-bedroom villa, was originally erected in the 1920s for the plantation's first owner, Clara Livingston. Spa Botánico, a five-acre botanical wellness center, offers modern treatments incorporating local Manos Santos or "Holy Hands"  practices. Signature restaurant Mi Casa  is the first venture outside of the United States for chef José Andrés (Jaleo, Zaytinya, Oyamel). Designed for adults, families and children, Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment is a comprehensive outdoor activities program exploring the surrounding coral reefs, wetlands and archaeological sites. High-season rates at the resort start at $1,499 per night.
