Singapore Airlines has become the latest carrier to upgrade its first-class cabins. Its A380 aircraft will now offer six “Suites,” with proper beds and separate leather-upholstered swivel chairs. Couples may combine two Suites in order to create a double bed. Meals will be served with Wedgwood china and Lalique glassware. As the flight from New York to Singapore is more than 21 hours, such enhancements are entirely welcome — though doubtless they will come at a price.
