For a place of its size, Tel Aviv has a surprising dearth of hotels. True, there are large chain properties along the beach, plus a couple of boutique hotels in the heart of the city. But until now, there has been nowhere with a distinctive personality that offers a full range of facilities. This will change in August with the debut of The Norman, housed within two 1920s buildings in the central Bauhaus district. The main structure will contain 30 rooms, plus two restaurants, a health and fitness area, and a spectacular 50-foot horizon pool. An adjacent building will offer 20 suites, including two superb rooftop lodgings with private decks and hot tubs.
