The Lanesborough Has Reopened, and It Is Stunning

The Lanesborough has reopened after an 18-month renovation, and we have exclusive photos from this breathtaking refurbishment. Famed interior design firm Cabinet Alberto Pinto oversaw the treatment of guest rooms and public areas, and focused specifically on restoring the ceilings and incorporating as much of the original design as possible. The innate luxury of the finished product can be seen in the details: 23,000 sheets of gold leaf; 3 million hand stitches; 2,000 man-hours creating 5,500 original stencils. Additionally, warm, harmonious color schemes reflect the Regency period origins, keeping with the historical integrity of the building. The use of British handicrafts and products throughout the property, such as bespoke Roja fragrances and bath amenities, make for a truly London experience.

The property is now under the management of the Oetker Collection, and many similarities can be found between The Lanesborough and sister property (and Harper subscriber favorite) Le Bristol Paris. Even in light of these, such as a Le Bristol culinary alum and impeccable service, The Lanesborough remains distinctly British.
