British Columbia seems to have more than its fair share of natural beauty, especially where the Pacific meets a pristine coastline of dramatic cliffs, trout-filled rivers and glorious beaches. The 21 million-acre Great Bear Rainforest, which extends from the northern tip of Vancouver Island to Alaska, contains wolves, cougars, grizzlies and the famous white Kermode, or “spirit,” bear. And the coastal waters teem with Chinook, pink and coho salmon. The weather can change quickly, and fog is an ever-present possibility. Note that many floatplane operators have strict weight limits on baggage, including carry-on items.
