Occupying a restored former sea captain’s house, this stylish 20-room hotel is conveniently situated on Nantucket’s principal cobbled thoroughfare. Common spaces, including a comfortable library-lounge, display a nautical décor complemented by grass-cloth wallcoverings, shiplap wainscoting and sea grass rugs. Guest accommodations in the main house (no elevator) feature high ceilings, tall windows, hardwood floors and cream-hued walls. There is no restaurant, but a delightful café serves breakfast and afternoon snacks. An outdoor tree-shaded courtyard furnished with couches, tables and a fire pit provides a wonderful place to relax in the evening. This property is unpretentious and welcoming, with a house-party ambiance. The hotel is closed from late-December to mid-April.
