This sumptuous 24-room hotel is housed in a spectacular renovated 16th-century palazzo in San Polo on the Grand Canal. Magnificent public areas include a lobby lined with marble busts; a dazzling second-floor dining room with gilded mirrors, lavish moldings, glittering chandeliers, impressive frescoes and a balcony overlooking the canal; two adjacent smaller dining rooms with frescoed ceilings for Italian cuisine; a regal salon; a library with walnut bookcases and leather-covered walls; a roof terrace; and a lush private garden. There is also a small spa and gym. Four room categories include spacious, high-ceilinged Palazzo Stanza accommodations in the adjacent Garden Building, with soothing contemporary décor, silk wallcoverings, chinoiserie and painted ceilings. Private access to the Palazzo Ducale is available exclusively to hotel guests. This property has a congenial and relaxing atmosphere amid scarcely believable grandeur.
