This landmark resort completed extensive renovations in 2018. The property is set in a village-like setting adjacent to a 500-acre wildlife preserve, an hour north of Milwaukee. A gabled Tudor-style brick manor (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) houses 241 rooms with lavish baths. The 55 exclusive lodgings in the Carriage House offer private check-in and concierge services, plus complimentary afternoon tea and evening hors d’oeuvres. Elegant Old World public areas contain distinctive dining venues, including the Immigrant Restaurant, specializing in contemporary European-inspired cuisine (jacket required), and the Winery Bar for small plates. Spectacular Pete Dye golf courses are available (advance tee times can be booked). Amenities include a tremendous spa with an indoor pool, a gym, tennis courts, a racquet club, a trap shooting range, fishing streams and woodland trails. No guests under age 16 are permitted in the Carriage House.
