Located in the heart of Mérida, this restored colonial-era hacienda comprises seven guest rooms and three patios linked by tropical gardens. All the inner courtyards are spectacular, but the third — featuring ancient tiles, stone and marble arches, tall potted palms and handwoven hammocks — is especially impressive. The bright Balcony Rooms on the property’s second floor offer garden views from furnished wooden decks, but the Garden Suites, with separate seating areas, original oil paintings by local artist Malena Peón, handcrafted wooden furnishings and luxurious baths with natural stone tubs, are especially recommended. Cooking classes, Hatha yoga sessions, tours of downtown Mérida and visits to famous Mayan pyramids can be arranged. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted at the property.
