Located on the southern fringe of Reims, this grand château housing 20 exquisitely appointed guest accommodations and spacious public salons is surrounded by a pretty 17-acre English-style park with sweeping lawns and well-tended gardens. Restyled by Pierre-Yves Rochon, the comfortable rooms and suites feature a refined classic French décor and may include canopy beds, antique furnishings, rich fabrics and private stone balconies or terraces. The wood-paneled, two-star Le Parc restaurant offers an extraordinary wine cellar boasting more than 600 varieties of Champagne alone. Other amenities include a relaxed brasserie opening onto a large terrace and an intimate bar overlooking the parkland punctuated by century-old trees. Though the estate lacks a swimming pool, spa and gym, there is a tennis court and putting greens. This lovely hotel is like a genteel time capsule, and though many modern conveniences are missing and the rigidity of the service can be constraining, it offers an increasingly rare dose of traditional French luxury.

The very comfortable, traditionally furnished rooms; the sweeping lawns and well-tended gardens.
Service can be haughty; the lack of a pool, spa or gym.
Only book a room in the main château itself, and request a view of the park, not the driveway. Restaurant reservations should be made in advance.
