Legendary castle-style hotel run by the Scherz family since 1938, dominating a fashionable Alpine resort village two hours east of Geneva. The 90 lavish guest quarters come with regional accents and a full range of amenities. Atmospheric public areas include the rustically elegant Le Grill, plus La Fromagerie for fondue and Gildo’s Ristorante, a fine Italian restaurant. At lively nightclub GreenGo, guests dance on a glass floor above the indoor swimming pool. Also outdoor heated pool, health and fitness spa, and four outdoor tennis courts (where 12-time Grand Slam winner Roy Emerson still conducts tennis workshops each summer). Fishing, biking, hiking, horseback riding, clay shooting, snowshoeing and skiing can be arranged.
