Beautiful common areas include a spacious high-ceilinged lobby-lounge with long sofas and a striking modern-art collection, a library and an adjoining leafy patio. The 17 guest accommodations come in three categories; opt for one of the four Ateliers, which surround a peaceful private lounge. Most Atelier rooms feature 16-foot ceilings, separate sitting areas, vintage armoires and white-marble baths with glass-enclosed steam showers. Under the supervision of chef Oscar Velarde, an intimate ground-floor restaurant with round marble bistro tables and tall shuttered windows serves Peruvian-inspired Mediterranean cuisine and afternoon tea. Though the hotel lacks a pool, spa and gym, there is a panoramic roof terrace with loungers.

Several interesting museums are within walking distance, including the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo - Lima and MATE - Museo Mario Testino, established in 2012 by the celebrated Peruvian photographer.
