This grand hotel housed within a converted 16th-century monastery is situated just a short stroll from the Plaza de Armas. Rustic timbered ceilings, stone fireplaces, terra-cotta floors, antique furniture, museum-quality artifacts, silver adornments and original paintings from the Cusqueña school of art define the atmospheric public areas, including a lobby bar where jazz musicians often play. An appealing restaurant occupies the perimeter of a magnificent cloistered courtyard. The 122 rooms come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, with the more spacious Junior Suites appointed with Spanish-style furnishings. The property is within walking distance of nearly all of the foremost sites in Cusco’s historic district.
