Set on the water’s edge, this hospitable 15-room family-run hotel at the base of pine-clad Kinloch Hill on the Isle of Skye is contained within two appealing whitewashed buildings, one a 1680 hunting lodge. The owners have filled the rooms and public spaces with heirloom antiques, family portraits and keepsakes, and the well-stocked whisky bar and the drawing room with a grand fireplace in the more contemporary South Lodge building are especially lovely. The restaurant, overseen by Brazilian-Scottish chef Marcello Tully, serves fine seasonally inspired regional cuisine.
