This small camp in the 35,000-acre Olare Motorogi Conservancy is adjacent to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The property has seven lavish tents set on a raised deck screened by trees, which commands a spellbinding view of the plains. A pleasant lounge decorated with leather sofas, Oriental rugs and African artifacts contains a library. The atmospheric dining room is centered on a massive wooden table and is illuminated by oil lamps and a brass chandelier, with electric lighting provided by solar panels. Tents come with canopied canvas ceilings, wood floors, brass accents and private verandas. Daily events are tailored to guests’ preferences. Hot air ballooning over the Maasai Mara can be arranged. Overall, this charming haven offers excellent food and agreeable service. Children under age 8 are not permitted at the camp.
