This property is a gracious and charming re-creation of an original Victorian mansion-style hotel, with wide verandas, a soaring mansard roof and 67 rooms, all with sea views. Second-floor rooms with terraces are preferred, but all accommodations feature meticulously wrought moldings, paneled doors, thoughtfully executed lighting and a full complement of comfortable furniture. Sumptuous baths have marble vanities and beach-stone flooring in the showers. Food and drink options encompass Living Room for afternoon tea; the delicious COAST restaurant, which serves daily changing four- and six-course tasting menus in a traditional dining room with sea vistas; the Bistro for seasonally inspired dishes; and Secret Garden for Champagne and light fare. The newly created Center for Wine & Culinary Arts hosts an intimate place to taste, create and take wine and cooking classes. Amenities include an indoor saltwater pool, a spa, a screening room, a gym and a gorgeous private beach. Golf and tennis clubs are located nearby.
