This palatial hotel (also known as the Hostal dos Reis Católicos) is located in a 15th-century convent on Obradoiro Square and faces the cathedral. The immense Baroque doorway, vaulted halls and four arcaded Renaissance and Gothic courtyards highlight this National Historic Monument, which has 137 antiques-furnished rooms and art-filled salons. Accommodations include canopied beds, brocade drapes, wooden floors and marble baths. Eating options include a formal dining room in former stables and a more casual tapas restaurant serve Galician-style meat and fish dishes. Other amenities include a terrace bar overlooking the plaza. The property is atmospheric, but as is often the case in Paradors, the service can be inconsistent. The hotel also lack a gym or swimming pool.
