This remarkable contemporary and eco-friendly seafront complex has three suites in the Sculpture building and a separate structure housing six two- and three-bedroom family-friendly casas. Many of the bold but comfortable lodgings have teak floors, leather area rugs, white walls, velvet sofas, striking photographs and dramatic baths clad in sheets of aluminum riveted together like an old airplane. The spectacular 75-foot lap pool is cantilevered over an expanse of lawn, and a sculpture pavilion displays museum-quality modern art. The property also encompasses a small spa and a gym with floor-to-ceiling windows. Excellent dining options include Cielomar for seafood-oriented three-course meals and the popular seasonal La Susana restaurant set on the beach serving traditional Uruguayan cuisine. The property is closed from May to October.
