Set in the heart of the Village, this charming property features a Bavarian façade and traditional alpine chalet décor. The 112 suites and 15 rooms are relatively simple, with plain white walls, expanses of rough paneling and pairs of antlers above gas fireplaces in comfortable sitting areas. Many have balconies with French doors, the most desirable being those on the back of the hotel overlooking Gore Creek. Baths, though not very spacious, offer separate showers, whirlpool tubs and heated marble floors. Juniper Rooms run small, so choose a Junior Suite category or above. Ludwig’s serves breakfast on the terrace, while Swiss Chalet offers traditional European cuisine in a Swiss-style setting, Bully Ranch provides an informal Southwestern-inspired menu, and King’s Club is an excellent option for après ski cocktails and live entertainment. Amenities include a spa, a gym, a heated indoor pool and an outdoor tranquility pool with a riverfront sundeck and a swim-up bar available in the summer. A private 18-hole championship golf course (open early April to late October) is located nearby, and guided snowshoe trips can be arranged by the concierge.
