This charming 1798 Georgian manor house at the edge of a delightful Dorset village in Thomas Hardy country is two hours south of Bath. The 19 rooms and five suites are lavishly furnished with Belgian linens, elegant vanity tables and ornate baths. There is also a secluded cottage with an open-air hot tub set in a private garden. The parlor room with deep sofas, floral displays and log fires is an ideal venue for afternoon tea. Additional hotel amenities include a paneled bar, an award-winning restaurant with an extensive wine cellar, a small health spa and gym, an indoor heated swimming pool and an all-weather tennis court. Picturesque walks along miles of public footpaths, quiet country lanes and chalk-cliff coastline are easily accessible and can be geared toward all fitness levels. This property is a convenient base from which to tour rural Dorset.
