Founded in 1969 in the unspoiled lake region of Bristol Bay, this fly-in/fly-out sport-fishing lodge is located within the 1.5 million-acre Wood-Tikchik State Park. Fishing for salmon and trophy trout in wilderness areas is accessed by four floatplanes and several dozen boats pre-positioned on remote rivers and lakes. The seven guest cabins feature private entrances, large picture windows and independent heat and hot water. The restaurant serves seasonally inspired Pacific Northwest cuisine in a circular dining room with large windows that offer panoramic lake views. There is also an atmospheric lounge area with a stone fireplace, and a woodburning stove sauna. The lodge’s exceptionally experienced guides make this a top-notch operation. The property is closed from mid-September to mid-June.
All guest accommodations face Nuyakuk Lake and the Kilbuck Mountains.
