Tucked behind sheltering dunes and bordering a saltwater pond, this relaxed seaside getaway is set in a rambling, restored shingle-style building. The inn houses 31 rooms and two-bedroom Signature Suites and has the feel of a much-loved beach house, welcoming and congenial, with fine woodwork and an eclectic array of local art. A spacious great room provides inviting sitting areas, a woodburning fireplace and a screened porch, while the lovely restaurant has windows galore and serves farm-to-table fare. A gym is adjacent to the seasonal outdoor pool and sundeck (with Jacuzzi), and a boardwalk leads to an undeveloped, private 2-mile sandy beach. Access to the nearby OH! Spa at Ocean House is available to guests of the hotel.
