Denmark, Norway and Sweden are Scandinavia. While the majority of the Scandinavian Peninsula is in the frigid Arctic Circle, the southernmost cities of Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm are blessedly temperate. Old World Copenhagen allows you to explore the fairy-tale-like Rosenborg Castle, the charming 17th- and 18th-century buildings of the Nyhavn waterfront and the world's oldest amusement park, Tivoli Gardens.
Stepping into Norway is something to behold. The country has multiple stunning UNESCO World Heritage sites: Bryggen, the old wharf in Bergen, where you can imagine living 500 years ago, and the dramatic fjords of Nærøyfjord and Geirangerfjord, where you can hike, cruise and kayak.
In Oslo, travelers can see restored Viking ships, visit one of Europe's largest outdoor museums and contemplate the human condition amid more than 200 life-size sculptures in the Vigeland Sculpture Park.
Travel to Stockholm's colorful Old Town and navigate the cobblestone streets lined with 17th- and 18th-century buildings.
