Day 1 : Arrive in Oslo

You will be welcomed by your private driver who will transfer you to your hotel, Hotel Continental in Oslo. You will rest and relax the rest of the day. Consider taking a city stroll or just enjoy the services and amenities of your hotel.

Opulent family-owned hotel in the heart of Oslo and opposite the National Theatre, with a fine-art collection that includes prints by Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch.

Day 2 : Travel to Alta, Lapland

After breakfast your private driver will pick you up at the hotel to return to the airport for your flight to Alta, Lapland. En route you will cross the Arctic Circle. Upon arrival you will be greeted by your host who will take you to Ongajok Mountain Lodge. After dinner, an expert Northern Lights guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you on a “Northern Lights Safari.” You will go to the places with the most favorable weather conditions for watching this fantastic natural phenomenon.

Day 3 : Christmas Eve dinner party

Everyone will be busy making the final preparations for the dinner party on Christmas Eve, the most holy of Norwegian holidays. You may walk around the area on your own or even hike in the woods (your host will provide snowshoes). In the evening you will be invited for Christmas dinner and afterward you may relax around the fire. 

Day 4 : Relaxing on Christmas Day

A very slow day for Norwegians, Christmas is celebrated among families privately in their homes. In the late morning your host will take you for a nice and easy hike, using snowshoes or cross-country skis. Return for lunch and a day of relaxing. Tonight, your host will prepare the outdoor hot tub where you can enjoy the Aurora Borealis dancing over the winter sky. 

Day 5 : Wilderness Dog Sledding Tour

Today will be a special event as your host and his dogs will take you on an exciting private tour of the wild and unspoiled surroundings of the magical forest. Zigzagging between pine trees, up and down the hills and crossing frozen lakes, it will be a wonderful ride! Tonight you will have another opportunity to view the Northern Lights depending on the weather conditions.

Day 6 : Snowmobile daytrip

Spend the day with your guide riding through the untouched wilderness forest taking in the beautiful white landscape and viewing eagles, rabbits and lynx. Tonight you will have one last opportunity to view the Northern Lights, weather cooperating.

Day 7 : Return home

Return to the airport for your flight home.
