Opening in 2020: A Transformed Keswick Hall

Set amid rolling hills in the Virginia wine country two hours southwest of Washington, D.C., Keswick Hall was originally built in 1912 as a private Tuscan-style villa on a 600-acre estate. In its later manifestation as a rural retreat, it has long been popular with Hideaway Report members.

Now, the property has undergone a transformation with the addition of a new guest wing, housing 42 accommodations (bringing the total to 80), a new spa and wellness center with eight treatment rooms, and a redesigned infinity pool overlooking the idyllic Virginia countryside. Perhaps the most striking addition, however, is the new signature restaurant, surrounded by an herb garden, which will be under the supervision of star chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, whose Michelin two-star flagship on Central Park West has been a highlight of the New York dining scene since 1997. Aside from an 18-hole golf course, Keswick Hall offers a network of walking paths and riding trails. Visits to nearby wineries can easily be arranged. The property will reopen in 2020.
