It comes as a surprise to many that delicious wines are being produced in New Mexico these days. Because of its high elevation, warm daytime temperatures are mitigated by cool nighttime lows, ensuring the slow and even ripening of the grapes. I visited quite a few tasting rooms and wineries on my recent trip. These were my favorites:
Vivác – 1607 Paseo de Peralta, Santa Fe.
Estrella Del Norte – 106 N. Shining Sun, Santa Fe.
St. Clair – 901 Rio Grande Bouledvard N.W., Albuquerque.
Black Mesa – 241 Ledoux Street, Taos.
