Georgia was one of the original 13 Colonies, a founding member of the Confederacy and a birthplace of the civil rights movement. Today, it is one of the fastest-growing states in the country, fueled in no small part by Atlanta’s economic dynamism. Nor does Georgia lack scenic grandeur, including the southern edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a coastline fragmented into numerous islands and estuaries. Savannah is a perpetual delight, with moss-draped oaks and pretty antebellum houses surrounding a unique grid of 22 squares.
Our suggested properties here include tranquil hideaways along the coast, as well as several charming Victorians in Savannah’s historic district. The coast is best between December and May, when the weather is milder and there is little threat of hurricanes.
