Conveniently located in the historic Casco Viejo neighborhood, this creatively designed hotel is set in a beautifully restored 1917 building. Common areas include a leafy interior courtyard with handmade graphic tiles and café tables with wire-frame chairs, an attractive reading room with tropical-print sofas, an atmospheric jazz club overseen by well-known Panamanian pianist Danilo Pérez, a modern gym and a deck with a square pool flanked by lounge chairs (no spa). The 50 comfortable guest rooms feature a Havana-inspired décor, floor-to-ceiling windows with city or water views, a mix of antique and modern furnishings, hardwood floors made of reclaimed timber from the bottom of the Panama Canal and baths with colorfully tiled floors and glass-walled showers. Though the restaurant is not recommended, there are many excellent options nearby.
