Ideal location; obliging staff; spacious, air-conditioned rooms with exemplary modern baths.
The hotel has been recently refurbished, and some aspects of the new décor diminish its historical atmosphere and are in questionable taste.
The center of Chester is pedestrians-only, but when you reach the barrier, you will find a hotel representative there to assist you; retrieving your car from valet parking can be extremely time-consuming, however.
