On the banks of the wild and scenic Pacuare River, this secluded jungle ecolodge is accessible by inflatable raft. Showcasing indigenous Cabécar-inspired architecture, the property’s 20 villas and suites feature a successful mix of Asian, local and contemporary influences but lack electricity. Appointed with vaulted cane ceilings, hardwood floors, canopied beds with mosquito netting, Balinese-style seating groups and private terraces with unheated pools, the spacious Linda Vista Villas are especially recommended. The property encompasses a spa, a bar and a walk-in wine cellar and serves meals on a terrace above the river or on a treetop platform high above the ground. The emphasis is on adventure, including rappelling and whitewater rafting, amid breathtaking scenery. The lodge does not permit children under the age of 7.
