Stylish and cheerful 125-room hotel in a former publishing house, about 20 minutes on foot north of Tbilisi’s old center, near major museums and fashionable restaurants. Reserve a suite if possible; book nothing smaller than a Signature King. Accommodations have wood floors, masculine vintage décor and industrial-chic black-and-white baths; some with terraces. Views are either of an unremarkable street or a construction site across the courtyard. Fashionable lounge, garden courtyard and indoor bars, and excellent Kitchen Restaurant serving elevated Georgian cuisine as well as a beautiful breakfast buffet. Helpful concierge can arrange transfers and memorable excursions, notably the “Insider’s Guide” walking tour.

The cheerful and efficient staff; the stylish and warm décor; the fine restaurant; the shady courtyard bar; a location convenient to museums, the opera and a number of fashionable restaurants and bars.
The uninspiring views of either an unremarkable street or a construction site; the location is a rather long walk to the old center.
Once it fully opens, the neighboring Stamba Hotel (sister to Rooms) will offer superior accommodations; whether or not you stay at Rooms, book the unforgettable Insider’s Guide tour offered by the hotel.
Lowest Rate: Urban Queen, $230; Editor’s Choice: Loren Suite, $580.
